Simple Spinach Pie (family recipe)

Hey there, my lovely Internet family.
I'm just getting over a head cold, so today I have a quick and simple recipe, a family classic, and a meal oft-requested throughout my brother's and my childhood. It's a birthday staple, even now, served with a side of broiled salmon or king crab legs. And, it's inexpensive, painless to make, and oh-so-delicious. I do hope you like it, too. So without further ado...

Ingredients:

  • 1 Tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • Olive Oil
  • 1 14 oz can of spinach
  • 8 oz shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 Cup cottage cheese
  • 1 egg
  • ½ plain bread crumbs

Method:
-Preheat the oven to 350°.

- Sauté the onions and garlic until they are soft, then set them aside. (Yum, garlic.)
- In a bowl, mix ALL THE THINGS.
- Put the filling in a pie crust and bake for an hour.
- Let it sit for 15 minutes, then slice and serve!

- Sláinte! Don't forget, all the images on this blog are Pin-able, and the recipes are printable. Just hover over any image and the Pinterest button will appear, or look for the little grey print button at the bottom of this post.

If you try this recipe out, do come back and let me know how you liked it.
