ANSWER ME THIS (vol. 7) | vlog style

Hello, Hanlin Family!

On the blog Catholic All Year, Kendra hosts a link-up called "Answer Me This," a fun way to get to know people in our wee internet communities by answering a handful of random questions every week. I had a lot of fun with this one, so please let me know what you think and if I should do something like this every so often.
This week's video blog is a little different than the others because I did barely anything this week other than work (which seems to be a pattern here. #adulthood), so instead of a life-y vlog this week, I have a sort of lazy Q & A for you. Also, grad parties rock.

So. Here we go. Rock on.

Instagram Round-up, 2nd Quarter 2015

As some of you may know, Instagram is by far my favorite social media platform, followed closely by the YouTubes (subscribe to my channel if you haven't already and you'll be in for some neat vlogs - if I do say so myself). It's a terrific way of sharing your photography - even shots that have been taken on a professional camera, and transferred to your smartphone by various means - and I must admit that I probably use it a wee bit too much.

Anyway, I've seen a few different bloggers have an "Instagram roundup" of sorts every so often, and I thought I'd jump on that bandwagon every few months and share some of my favorites.

Here goes!

Hello, Hanlin Family!

Last week was a smörgåsbord of really great days and really... not great... days. One terrific thing that happened is that Emily (or Bluebird), my bestest friend in the whole wide world, officially survived her twentieth year. We celebrated her twenty-first birthday on Friday evening!
With pasta. Because how else is one to celebrate an Italian's birthday? Happy birthday, Bluebird!

And now, for this week's vlog.

Chocolate Berry Smoothie / Ice Cream

Hello, Hanlin Family!

I have another recipe for you today, and yet again I have the G's to thank for it. You may remember that my parents and I spent an evening at the G's house a month or so ago where we exchanged recipes, and before we left, the man of the house made us all a chocolate berry smoothie that was out of this world. It was amazing... Y'all know I love me some berries. My only regret from that night was not eating more of it - it was late and I knew that I'd never get to sleep if I had a whole serving. It would've been worth the insomnia.

I AM most definitely NOT A MODEL | vlog

Hello, Hanlin family!

Upon my return from the wedding in Missouri, I came down with a nasty case of allergies and bronchitis (the former thanks to a massive cottonwood tree that decided to explode the day I got home instead of getting it over with while I was gone), so I spent the last week coughing and sneezing and blowing a very sore, very red nose. Ya nasty.

Anyway, I tried to rest up last week, and I did to some extent, but my schedule was full of pet jobs, so I took you along on some of them.

#timaliewedding | vlog

Hello, Hanlin family!

My companions and I are safely back in the mitten state thanks to the kindness of Timalie's (Tim + Amalie) sponsor couple who nabbed Josie and I from our hotel and put up with us on the ride back. It was a lovely trip altogether, though I'm pretty sure all of us came back completely exhausted. Missouri folks know how to party, y'all.

As you might imagine, I didn't have much of an opportunity to vlog on the day of the wedding, because both Josie and I were running around with our faces in our DSLRs the whole time, but I was able to pop over to Best Buy the morning of, and grab one of those handy dandy bendy tripods (How's that for vocabulary?) so I could set the small camera down and carry on with the big one. I hope you enjoy this montage-y type vlog.

Congratulations, Tim and Amalie!

Pictures below, and more to come later. (Photos with the Acorn Photos watermark were taken by the lovely Josie, who will probably be doing most of the editing/compiling due to schedules.)

What a beautiful bride and handsome groom.

Hello, Hanlin Family!

Josie and I had a free day on Friday, so we hired a cab to drop us in downtown St. Louis for the day. Our hotel is in St. Peter's, the outskirts of what could be called St. Louis. I had been to St. Louis when I was six years old and the great Pope John Paul II came to visit, but sadly I don't remember most of that trip (I'm told I slept through most of the Papal Mass). I realized the only thing I do remember are the wee alien pods that take passengers to the top of the arch.

We had an outstanding day... We did indeed go to the arch (how could we not?) and made a somewhat unlawful stop into the City Museum - which is possibly the most fascinating place I've been in a long, long time (you'll see why). In our defense, we didn't know the rules before we went in. ;)

Hello, Hanlin family! I am in Missouri this weekend for a friend's wedding, and we played quite a few solid rounds of Disney Charades at the bachelorette party. What fun!

Heavenly Scent Herb Farm (photo dump)

Botanical gardens are some of my favorite places. I don't have a chance to visit them often, but I always find it a treat when I do. Last Saturday afternoon, my cousin was married at Heavenly Scent Herb Garden in Fenton, MI, and we had the opportunity to wander about for a few moments afterwards.

And so, because I have nothing interesting to write about today, here's a photo dump for you, and I must say that I'm quite pleased with these pictures.
