Well, I've had a very relaxing and rejuvenating few days here in North Carolina, but I leave this morning to re-enter the "real world." I do, however, have one more vlog for you - and it's perhaps my favorite one from this trip. We had quite a spontaneous day yesterday, renting last-minute jet skis, going to see Tomorrowland (more on that later) and popping over to a trampoline gym.

SO. MUCH. FUN. Enjoy!

Hello there, Hanlin family! I hope you're enjoying these vlogs as much as I'm enjoying making them.

Here's the latest creation from my time here in North Carolina. (It gets really pretty a few minutes in.)

TOPSAIL BEACH | North Carolina, Day 1 vlog

Howdy, folks! Im trying something new here: a daily vlog of sorts. Let me know what you think!

4 things I've learned/have been solidified in my mind today:

  1. I will never tire of the view from an airplane.
  2. There are so many different kinds of clouds, and they are all fascinating.
  3. Salt water tastes disgusting.
  4. The world we live in, even though it seems so huge, is so tiny in the grand scheme of things.

BUILDING AN OWL SHACK on Mother's Day | vlog

"Spring Garden Shopping" is an alternate title for this post.

Happy vlog day, Hanlin Family!

I hope you all had a lovely Mother's Day. I know it was a week ago already, but y'all should know how these video blogs go by now... they're not in "real time" and you get to see everything the Sunday after it happens. All the same, I hope you enjoy this vlog. We had a beautiful Mother's Day, followed by a very busy and productive week.

Before you (hopefully) enjoy this vlog, I ought to let you know that I'll be out of town from Tuesday to the following Sunday, and though I will be vlogging by trip, I'm not exactly sure when the video will be published, because I'm not sure how much time I will have for editing (which is the bulk of the work behind vlogging). So please bear with me, dear people, and know that while I'm away, I may be posting a short video on why I decided to start vlogging. Don't forget to subscribe to my YouTube channel if you haven't already!

And now, I'll stop waffling on and leave you to the YouTubes. Sláinte!

Sometimes you just have to bonfire.

When the night is just too perfect to stay inside on a computer watching Murder She Wrote on Netflix...

this happens:

Last night was my ideal spring night. It was cool enough for the TAC hoodie I'd stolen borrowed from a friend when I visited a few years ago, and for whatever reason (I like to think it was God), there were no bugs at all. After a quick dinner, and bringing my potted plants inside thanks to a local frost warning, my dad and I decided to venture outside and clean up some of the larger sticks in the yard in preparation for the first lawn cut of the season. After a few minutes, we thought we'd haul off and start a fire in the old pit we've had in our backyard for about thirty years.

The Detroit Riverfront | vlog

Last week was a busy one... but a good one. I spent Sunday in Detroit with my parents, and then worked two jobs every day for the rest of the week: one at the radio station, and the other with my Dad, which is becoming somewhat of a spring tradition. This is the third year that my father and I together have been hired (he and my brother worked together on this before the latter moved away) to clean a subdivision community pool not too far from our house, and well... you'll see.

And HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY to all ye moms out there!

Happy weekend! Or whenever you're visiting here. I'm glad to have you.

Last week, I attended the annual choir concert given by the homeschool group I used to be part of, and it was really quite lovely. It's always nice to get back to one's educational roots once in a while.

And, since I was asked a few more hedgehog-related questions after I'd already edited last week's Q&A, I thought I'd answer them this week (in a very cringe-worthy fashion).
