Gross Coffee | #AskHanlin

Hear ye, hear ye. I readily admit that I do not like this video (at all), but seeing as I would like to have a non-vlog video go live every other Thursday, I didn't want to post nothing this week. So, there you have it: an extremely cringeworthy Q & A video for you, where I answer your questions like:

- What instrument would I love to play?
- What song describes my childhood?
- What's the most disgusting thing I've ever eaten?

... and more...

Enjoy! If you can...

Surprise Trip to Atlanta

Jawja. I went dere.

I say "surprise" because:
a) you didn't know about it
b) I didn't know about it until the end of last week.

This past Tuesday and Wednesday, I was flown out to a movie set in Atlanta, GA to meet with some of the cast, the writer, and the director of a film in the making, 90 Minutes in Heaven, the true story of Don Piper and his death experience. During one of our production meetings at work, a colleague passed me a printed email from one of the crew and told me that if I wanted to go, I could. So I did, and I vlogged as much of it as possible. Bear in mind that I am not yet used to public vlogging, so a lot of this mayyyyy be awkward.

This is just a video blog, but I'll have some official "reporting" on 90 Minutes down the road. Enjoy!

The most under-appreciated musician ever.

Yesternight (Valentine's Day) was one of the best nights of my life. Amelia and I went to see Joshua Radin in concert, and it. was. amazing. By far the best concert I've ever been to. He seems to be surprisingly less famous than other people, but he's wonderful. Radin has a voice that stirs my soul, and is so soothing and calming, and well... you'll see. I've included lots of clips from the show in this week's vlog. :) Enjoy!

February Faves

Today I went out on a limb and filmed a "monthly faves" video with absolutely no preparation. ;) What are some of your favorites this month?

All of the snows.

Happy Sunday, Hanlin family. It's time again for another vlog, so ... here ya go.
This week I took a shot at cross country skiing, and my dad outdid himself on family dinner. Enjoy!

Chef, 2014 (R) ~ movie review

Last Sunday, I decided to watch a new addition to the Netflix queue that I had seen advertised quite a while ago and then heard nothing of, Chef. Going in, I knew naught about this movie except that it was a food movie, so I didn't have any pre-conceived notions, despite the fact that food movies happen to be one of my favorite film genres.

First things first, though: Don't watch this movie when you're hungry, warns the trailer, and necessarily. By the time it was over, I was craving a cubano sandwich and a stuffed baked potato, the latter of which I promptly set about making and didn't finish until around 3 a.m. #dedication right? (Actually, I had slept all day because I was sick after church, so I thought I might as well do something "productive" when I found myself wiiiiide awake in the wee hours of the morning.)
