happy list (1)

"'Dear old world,' she murmured, 'you are very lovely, and I'm glad to be alive in you.'" ~ L.M. Montgomery, Anne of Green Gables

Over the past few days,  I've been compiling a list of things that make me happy from some of the photos on my Instagram (@starvinginspired). On the rough and stressful days, it's been a wonderful little exercise. And since I don't have much to say around these parts, I thought I'd dump a boatload off photos on you. Eh?

Tell me what's on your "happy list" in the com-box!

small talk & rubber chickens

Rubber chickens have nothing to do with this, but I needed an "& _____ _____" for the title. #ocdproblems.

Oh my. I have been out of the blog world, folks, and I do apologize for it. My life has been multiple levels of insanity these past few weeks. Lovely, to be sure, but cuh-razy all the same.

I have been blessed with a job at the radio station where I was interning this summer. I would use an exclamation point there, if it were not for a certain college professor of mine who may or may not read this blog and hates them and will undoubtedly harangue me for using them for something other than a legitimate exclamation. NH, know that because of your tutelage, I have restrained myself and look completely unenthusiastic about possibly one of the best things to ever happen to me. Anyway. Yes, my faithful friends and readers, I am no longer an intern, but an official, on-the-payroll Assistant Producer. I don't think I could tell you adequately what exactly it is I do, but when I have a finished project, I promise you shall be (one of) the first to see it.

featured blogger: my sunkissed farm

I’m Rachel, just an ordinary, 17-year old girl with an extraordinary God. I am a hopeful romantic, and I enjoy reading, hiking, and drinking coffee on rainy days. I strive to be an inspiration to those around me by sharing my love for Jesus and being an encouragement in times of need.

"Miss Hatcher" and I met online, oh, I'd say about a year ago now, and I am consistently blessed by her writing. I'm sure you will be too.

Q: How did you first get involved with blogging, and what inspired you start your own?

AQUA { restaurant review }

I recently had the opportunity to pay a visit to AQUA, Plymouth Michigan’s new addition in the fine dining department. I was impressed.
Excuse the cell phone photography. I didn't want to be conspicuous by bringing my DSLR.

It was a Wednesday evening. I had called earlier in the day to make a reservation for 7 p.m., and there was room enough for us without a problem.

orthodoxy ~ tea with chesterton

When the world shook and the sun was wiped out of heaven, it was not at the crucifixion, but at the cry from the cross: the cry which confessed that God was forsaken of God. And now, let the revolutionists choose a creed from all creeds and a god from all gods of the world, carefully weighing all the gods of inevitable recurrence and of unalterable power. They will not find another god who has himself been in revolt. Nay (the matter grows too difficult for human speech), but let the atheists themselves choose a god. They will find only one divinity who ever uttered their isolation; only one religion in which God seemed, for an instant, to be an atheist.

~ Chesterton, Orthodoxy

The secret to flight is this... you have to do it immediately, before your body realizes it is defying the laws.
