Long time no ... write?

Greetings to you, fellow earthlings... I hope this post finds you all alive and well on this beautiful June morning.  ( I feel quite accomplished- I actually woke up after AFTER the birds today, quite an oddity indeed in my household... )

Anyway, I know that I have not written anything original or truly worth reading in a while, and for that I sincerely apologize once more.  My life, as of late, has been full of ups and downs, but I am happy to say that the "ups" have been quite more abundant.  Among these is the fact that I am officially officially done with high school.  Passed, graduated, registered for fall classes at college, and had an absolutely fantastic graduation party on Saturday evening.  I am also having a pretty darn fantastic summer so far.  As I have joked with my friends, my summer cycle is to get up, work, party, sleep, get up, work, party, sleep, ... I think you get the point.  Every weekend presents at least three different graduation parties, and every week, there is something fun to do with friends.  It is so refreshing to spend so much time with the people I love.  Talking, laughing, swing dancing, swimming, sitting in a circle under the trees doing absolutely nothing of importance, but "solving the problems of the world" through our conversations.

Myself and some friends at the party...
As I said, last Saturday was my graduation party, and it was just wonderful.  I was truly surprised and honored to see how so many people were willing (and even happy) to make the long trek to the middle of Nowhereland to be at my party (often from the middle of a different Nowhereland themselves).  My aunt prepared all the food (the best Mexican I have ever tasted), and my neighbors stayed up late to help set up, and clean up afterwards.  It was lovely to visit with friends and family we haven't seen in years because life had gotten too crazy or something like that, and to see how the much the babies have grown since we saw them last.  We had some epic games of volleyball, horseshoes, lots of stuff for the little ones to play around with (I admit to sitting on the ground blowing bubbles for at least a half hour with some of the munchkins - no one can be too old for bubbles), and I think some of my ragamuffins even started a game of football.  When it grew dark, I turned on the floodlights and we swing danced on the lawn to some oldies, as well as some not-so-oldies.  We had a bon fire, too, and two of my friends somehow ended up in the lake... ;)

I was sad to see everyone go at the end, but I believe everyone had a fantastic time, so my job had been successfully finished.  :o)

Dio vi benedica tutti, e spero che tu abbia una giornata fantastica.  (God bless you all, and I hope you have a fantastic day.)  LONG LIVE ITALIA!!! ;)

O most holy heart of Jesus, fountain of every blessing, I adore you, I love you, and with lively sorrow for my sins I offer you this poor heart of mine. Make me humble, patient, pure and wholly obedient to your will. Grant, Good Jesus, that I may live in you and for you. Protect me in the midst of danger. Comfort me in my afflictions. Give me health of body, assistance in my temporal needs, your blessing on all that I do, and the grace of a holy death. Amen.

Consecration of the Human Race to the Sacred Heart of Jesus

Most sweet Jesus, Redeemer of the human race, look down upon us humbly prostrate before Your altar (or in Your presence). We are Yours, and Yours we wish to be; but, to be more surely united with You, behold each one of us freely consecrates himself today to Your Most Sacred Heart.
Many indeed have never known You; many too, despising Your precepts, have rejected You. Have mercy on them all, most merciful Jesus, and draw them to Your Sacred Heart.
Be King, O Lord, not only of the faithful who have never forsaken You, but also of the prodigal children who have abandoned You; grant that they may quickly return to their Father's house lest they die of wretchedness and hunger.
Be King of those who are deceived by erroneous opinions, or whom discord keeps aloof; call them back to the harbor of truth and unity of faith, so that soon there may be but one flock and one Shepherd.
Grant, O Lord, to Your Church assurance of freedom and immunity from harm; give peace and order to all nations, and make the earth resound from pole to pole with one cry: Praise to the Divine Heart that wrought our salvation; to It be glory and honor forever. Amen.

My deepest apologies for the lack of random musings these past two weeks...
Hopefully I will have a real post for you folks soon.

God bless your day!
